CREATIVE JUMP-IN: Taking the First Step in Watercolor with Jennie Kilcup

CREATIVE JUMP-IN: Taking the First Step in Watercolor with Jennie Kilcup

  • Sun Valley Center for the Arts (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This four day workshop is geared towards adults who have little or no watercolor experience. Students will create a finished landscape painting working with minimal colors, learning how to create dimensions with brushstrokes and incorporating several different watercolor techniques to add detail.

Instructor Jennie Kilcup is an Idaho native, born and raised in Sun Valley, and currently living in Boise. She started using watercolors at the age of 8 in beginning watercolor classes, and expanded her knowledge by self-taught techniques. Jennie’s medium of choice is watercolor on paper, enhanced with pen and ink etchings. Her subject matter consists primarily of Northwest wildlife and landscape scenery. Her pallet is highly colorful, bold and vibrant. When she is not painting, she enjoys Idaho’s beautiful outdoors and golf.

This workshop takes place Mon-Thu, June 18-21, 9am-1pm daily.

Cancellation reimbursement deadline: Mon, Jun 4

Mrs. Kilcup Watercolor Workshop

I am very excited to collaborate with the amazing ladies of She is Boise, and Provisions Farm & Feed to hold my very first watercolor workshop here in the Treasure Valley. A picturesque experience awaits you in the fields of the farm, where I will guide you through the basics of the watercolor medium. You and your friends will learn how to paint locally grown vegetables & herbs, while enjoying seasonal beverages and Whitney Fredin's famous crostini platters. Never used watercolors before? No worries, this is the perfect class to dive on in! Participants must be 16 years or older.

Tickets are $70.00. This event will include: a gorgeous finished watercolor painting, a complete watercolor kit to take home along with an exclusive She Is Boise tote,  beverages and light snacks, and access to my Private Facebook Group for further education!
